Delivering Better
The movement demanding safe, evidence-based, and compassionate maternity care.
“My birth gave me my beautiful daughter, but it took away my dignity.” That was how Jo felt after her traumatic birth. The long-term physical and mental health impacts still affect her years later. When Jo shared her experience on Instagram she was blown away by the response, hundred of mothers getting in touch to share their own experience. That was went Jo decided she wanted to make change - and Delivering Better launched.
The Instragram account grew into a movement - and Jo Cruse joined forces with Sophie Lucas and Sarah Haines to turn Delivering Better into a powerful campaign and community led by mums calling for better maternity care for all.
They raised the voices of mothers in national media putting the maternity crisis firmly on the agenda, they’ve joined forces with midwives and other campaigners across the sector and brought mums to Parliament to have their voices heard.
Delivering Better is putting the maternity care crisis on the political agenda and mobilising a movement of mothers to demand better. Join them. (opens in a new tab)
Their aim is to build a powerful national coalition of voices – from mothers, to midwives and beyond – who can advocate for necessary policy change, push the maternity crisis to the top of the national agenda, and keep it there until all care is safe, compassionate and evidence-based.
Delivery Better has now launched a podcast. Listen here. (opens in a new tab)
