Our Mission

Breakthrough is a campaign accelerator. We believe the people closest to injustice should be the ones leading change. Our mission is to help people who have lived through injustice be heard, build power, and win change for their communities.

our approach

Our campaigners lead their own campaigns

We’re here to make sure they can

We start by listening to understand what they are trying to achieve and what they need from us

Everything we do is built
around that understanding

Our support brings together 3 THINGS

Our values

Good intentions aren't enough. These are the principles that hold us to account – guiding how we work, who we back, and why.

Our Impact

Impact for us is about creating change that is actually felt, in people's lives and in their communities. Our campaigners have changed national laws, won new legal rights, kept urgent issues on the front pages and built movements with thousands of supporters behind them

    Grow leaders

Campaigners who come through Breakthrough grow in self-belief, strategic skill and influence. Many step into public leadership, bring others into their work, build power across their communities and become a resource for the wider movement.

    WIN CHANGE

Our campaigners work on some of the most pressing social issues of our time – housing, workers' rights, the criminal justice system, maternity care and more. They change national laws, secure new legal protections and shift the terms of public debate. The changes they achieve are felt by thousands of people.

    BUILD POWER

Change doesn't come from one campaign alone. It comes from communities that are heard, connected and powerful enough to shape the decisions that affect their lives. We work with campaigners to build that - growing supporter bases, mobilising people to take action and building solidarity across campaigns and issues.
